Raven’s Gaze

2020

Dreaming is looking at the manifested mind within myself. Where does the world end?
Where do I begin? I am now a Raven.
With black wings that flash green, blue and
purple glows. Through my eyes.
The world opens like a ripe pomegranate.
Each grain is an eye
That looks from within
Each eye gazes from diverse vantage points

There is a nest
With a human being wrapped inside it
The Raven deposits food at the edge of the nest
As an offering
Then flies away,
Enjoying the colorful patters of the glows of its wings against the sky

The Raven’s gaze
Understands
Everything is connected
There is not one single story but multiple
Like the eyes of the pomegranate

Is this the nest of a protective mother?
Is this our house after the divorce?
Are you entangled in its midst, or is it me?
Did we create this entanglement together?
Why does only a single being reside inside the nest?
Is that being trapped?
Or is it a chrysalis about to open its wings and fly?
