The Red Book - In 2020, shortly before the world went into quarantine, the Saloneras launched another year-long creative process exploring the unconscious world of dreams led by artist and depth psychologist Mercedes Gertz. During the pandemic the group continued the project via virtual platforms, and came together in support of one another in what became a reflection on the impact of the lockdown and the language of dreams during quarantine. The end result was our own version of Jung’s Red Book in the form of a collective artist’s book which was exhibited at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles, the Museum of Art and Design in Costa Rica, the Parque Luis Cabrera and the Terreno Baldío gallery in Mexico City, and at the independent art space Suzu House in Kyoto, Japan. The project included workshops and roundtables in all these venues that allowed the sharing and extension of the processes involved.
