Instructions to Dream

2020

You returned to your beloved Paris with a simple pretext: a nondescript work meeting. At the reopened Brasserie Lutecia you had coffee with one of your dearest friends from that Paris from your years at the Sorbonne. You remembered old photos taken in a photo booth, you ate the world and your favorite dessert. You ran to the work meeting in that place located on one of those streets that you frequented when you were working there. You arrived without problems.

When you left, you had a date with your aunt Patricia near the Pantheon. You took a taxi that didn’t get you close, then the subway, and you walked a long way along the Rive Droite, crossed the river, and arrived at the Rive Gauche, you climbed the steep Cinquième mountain on foot. Some streets, more Roman than Parisian, seemed strange to you. Finally, after much searching, you found the address, entered through that large gate, crossed the courtyard, went down or up some stairs, and met Paty.

You toured that beautiful house with high ceilings that belonged to your dear teacher. With the finest French taste, the table was set. In that happy moment, you stayed and chit-chatted with your dear friends.

With love,
Your unconscious
