Unfinished

2020

The dream reported to WSLA members offers a dual aspect. The first is expressed in the activity of exploring the universe for new life, outward facing, ego driven, and narcissistic—the connection to the archetype of White supremacist capitalist patriarchy where the goal is to conquer and control. The second part of the dream offers an opposition to the first part—the archetype of the dark feminine as named “Jewish spinster.” The image is cloaked in the “shamed” aspects of the feminine: spinster, shrew, unwanted, outsider, plain, and dowdy. The dualities of the dream are compensatory and revealing. The archetypes of masculine and feminine meet to shame and undermine; however, both parts of the dream reveal potentials: a nugget seen on the screen displaying the universe representing new life—a depiction of the interior, introverted process, on the one hand, and a stolen, damaged, and restored sacred purse—a symbol of finding and displaying one’s identity or sense of self on the other.

In the process of meeting this dream in the context of other dreams and synchronistic moments, I meet a familiar image: A block— the thing to continually reshape, destruct, dissolve, and integrate.
