I started diving into the issue of identity, what it is, what it means, how it is built and what we, as a society, consider an individual to be. If we remove all personal traits and leave the bare humanity of an individual, that leaves us with only their fingerprints for identification. However, the information that can be discerned from a fingerprint is minimal. Today there are many layers to be considered when talking about identity: migration, race, gender, geography, society, politics, and religion. These are subjects that brush on the matter of identity. But, how much is assumed and how much is really understood from a fingerprint?
