An Accordion of Dreams

Dream investigations, fairy tales, and the symbolic language of the unconscious have always held my interest. Each is a system of communication that expresses an idea without words—a territory that holds untapped knowledge about our inner selves. For that reason, I have recorded the characters of my dreams in drawings, writings, and paintings as an ongoing journal and archive. I have shared these materials with other women and have found overlapping motifs. Perhaps these dreams reveal stories that we all have in common, or perhaps they reflect unspoken feelings that we share? It is my pleasure to offer this accordion of images to you, as someone who will create one more page in its ongoing story. With this act, our dream journal is shared and our innermost voices are given a platform to speak outside of ourselves.
