A few months ago I moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, which for me has meant moving into a completely opposite situation. I was struck by the dichotomies: East/West, cold/warm, man-made/natural, walking/driving. That experience inspired this accordion, one side I have depicted the view from my Brooklyn apartment, with the East River flowing under the two bridges, and the Lower Manhattan skyline in the distance. On the opposite side and upside down, I have represented the view from my patio in Los Feliz, with a wooden fence, a luscious palm tree and a warm and brilliant sun.
